ChickenFi Replaces BurgerFi for Launch Of Chicken Dishes

Reminiscent of when IHOP supposedly changed its name  to IHOB (International House of Burgers) as a temporary stunt to promote the chain’s new burgers, BurgerFi has seemingly followed in its footsteps for the launch of its chicken offerings.

Today the chain announced it would be “diving into the chicken wars” by rebranding as ChickenFi in honor of the chain’s new fried and grilled antibiotic-free Chicken Sandwiches. The sandwiches are available every day of the week (even Sunday, as the release points out as a dig on Chick-fil-A’s well-known Sunday closure) beginning May 21.

"We've expanded our chicken offerings by 50%, broadening our menu selection and improving our existing products," said the company’s Chief Chicken Officer (CEO) Carl Bachmann in a release. “We recognize that not everyone eats beef daily, so we came to the table with a top-tier chicken experience."

ChickenFi's new sandwiches come grilled or hand-breaded and fried, topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles and honey mustard.

If you happen to live near Lauderdale-By the Sea  or New York City, you’re in for a sweet and savory limited time treat. The two locations will offer a Chicken + Waffles Shake, made with vanilla frozen custard and pancake maple syrup, topped with a chicken tender and mini waffle for dunking.

The new chicken sandwiches join the brand's Jumbo Chicken Wings, cage-free Chicken Tenders and Grilled Chicken Bowls, as the restaurant chicken offerings.

Members of the chain’s V-Fi-P loyalty programs will have early access to an "eggstra" surprise and specials for the chicken sandwich launch.

And for those “looking to give someone the bird?” The chain is offering customers a $10 bonus for every $25 spent on gift cards until June 17.
