Just in time for the season, today Atlanta-based Krystal restaurants announced new tailgate promos to feed football fans on game day.

In celebration of National Tailgate Day on Sept. 2, Krystal’s will offer a deal of 10 original Krystal’s Wings or 10 Spicy Wings for $9.99.

The 300-unit chain also announced the return of the Chili Cheese Krystal to its tailgating-friendly menu. That burger consists of a beef patty topped with chili, American cheese, diced onions and mustard on the restaurant’s signature steamed bun, with a medium drink. The Chili Cheese Krystal is also available as a combo with two sliders, medium fries or tots and a medium drink.

Especially appealing to tailgaters, Krystal also offers the Chili Cheese Krystal as part of the chain’s “Pick 5!” existing promotion, which includes a selection of five menu items including burgers, hot dogs, fries along with several additional items at one set price, which varies per location.

“Krystal resonates particularly with college students who have a penchant for late-night and affordable bites” said Kaitlin Stoehr, senior director of marketing at Krystal in a press release.

Krystal was recently named to USA Today’s 2023 10 Best Late-Night Fast Food Reader’s Choice list.

Separately, Krystal recently joined SPB Hospitality, a multiunit restaurant group, operator and franchiser of steakhouses, brewery and craft-beer focused casual dining restaurants across the U.S.

The Southern-based chain went on to announce a new refranchising program initiative that will offer existing company-owned locations to franchisees in markets previously consisting only of company-owned units. It’s a strategy to target established multi-unit franchise operators with proven track records who want to grow their portfolio.

The initiative supports the company’s goal of increasing the chain from 300 to 500 locations within the next three to four years.
