Matt Marcus
R/GA Chicago SVP, Exec. Creative DirectorAs VP, Executive Creative Director and co-head of the Brand AI practice, Matt leads the Systematic Design program at R/GA Chicago and the experiential approach to AI across the North American network. In this position, he is responsible for helping clients identify, define, and design digitally supported services, new products, integrated campaigns and brand design components that impact future growth.
Matt has more than 25 years of product design, service design, and business strategy experience across an eclectic set of roles. He has built three startups as CMO and cofounder. He was the first creative leader in R/GA’s Chicago expansion, growing the office from three employees to its current scale. Before his stint at R/GA, Matt established Gucci’s global e-business presence as the Worldwide Director of E-Division, building teams and digital capabilities across 14 countries and 11 languages. Matt has also previously worked as a global digital systems consultant for companies such as Ermenegildo Zegna, National Geographic, Lego, Staples, Gucci Group, and Brooks Brothers.
Matt has a master’s degree in design planning from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he acted as an adjunct professor. He also holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, with a focus on film narrative. An avid outdoorsman and paddler, Matt enjoys finding time to run a river when the currents can compel him.
