Forbes - Sales Planner

Forbes Media’s Advertising Sales team is seeking  a Sales Planner/Account Producer. This person will be responsible for generating detailed proposals in partnership with the sales team for presentation to ad agencies and/or clients. This position is responsible for the management and execution of pre- and post sale activities for digital, tablet, mobile and print campaigns. This includes working with AdOps teams to implement campaigns and working with various internal groups on campaign optimization to ensure that contract revenue is fulfilled.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day support of sales team through development of media plans and decks, and marketing collateral for advertising proposals.
  • Prepare proposals - proactive and in response to RFPs – which are accurate, strategic, creative, meet objectives, and submitted on time.
  • Understand Forbes.com inventory and traffic patterns to effectively put together media plans customized to each client.
  • Work closely with and communicate directly with client/agency contacts on a daily basis for general account support, implementation and management of campaigns, monitoring campaign performance, optimizations, revisions and strategic selling.
  • Serve as primary liaison between client and Ad Ops to ensure campaigns launch on time and deliver in full.
  • Traffic necessary paperwork through internal channels
  • -Facilitate post-sale implementation and execution of unique Forbes Events, custom content, and special features.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the client and Forbes for all advertising needs and inquiries.
  • Manage, via close communications with the Regional Sales Managers, online campaign implementation, delivery and optimization processes to ensure that contracts deliver in full.
  • Administrative tasks such as issue mailings, database management, expense report preparation and occasional event planning. 

Required Competencies/Skills

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in one of the following areas: strategic planning (experience at an agency or with a publisher) or digital sales
  • Digital planning, sales or campaign management experience a must
  • Proficiency in digital media tools such as DART, Atlas, Omniture, iDesk, MediaVisor, ComScore, etc. highly desired.
  • Above average Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, efficiently manage time and prioritize deliverables
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for internal and external relationship management
  • Have solutions-oriented customer service focus that conveys and demonstrates responsiveness and competence showcasing a sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated to work independently, as well as part of a team  
  • Detail oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree
