Taylor Media (The Penny Hoarder) - Product Manager

Taylor Media is looking for a creative, experienced, data driven product manger to lead a team at one of the fastest growing sites in the US.

We run a number of web properties, the biggest of which is The Penny Hoarder, a blog about weird ways to earn and save money that sees about 15+ million monthly pageviews. Our goal is to provide valuable, relevant information and ideas that helps readers put more money in the bank.

The ideal candidate must possess a keen understanding of digital media and be passionate about creating beautiful and helpful user experiences. This role will blend creativity, analytics, direct user interaction and a close relationship to our editorial teams to help grow our brands.

Our product manager will be expected to… 

•Maintain a close working relationship with editorial leadership at The Penny Hoarder to define practices that leverage our platform and grow our audiences. 

•Lead a team of developers and graphic designers to make improvements to both the consumer facing side of The Penny Hoarder and our CMS.

•Collaborate with editors, designers and executives to define new features and enhancements and to improve workflows.

•Use Optimizely to create data-driven experiments that can be used to create a better product.

•Manage the workflow and communication between developers, brand designers and editorial teams to make sure projects are on schedule.

•Involve stakeholders by gathering input and communicating progress consistently and clearly.

Our ideal candidate has...

•An intense passion for details and organization.

•Deep understanding of usability and experience in building websites for a broad audience

•Strong analytical background with experience using tools such as Google Analytics or Parse.ly

•Experience in online media publishing

•Understanding of the news process and editorial motivations

•Demonstrated ability to build great products on time.

•Effectively multi-task and balance multiple priorities

•Ability to communicate goals and build consensus
