Slingshot - Media Supervisor

Job Overview
At Slingshot, the Media Supervisor is the day-to-day focal point for the account and is required to be well versed in their clients’ businesses from a marketing and advertising perspective. They will be responsible for research, strategy, and overall budget management for, potentially, multiple clients. This position will require someone who is a leader and is looking for an opportunity to grow. While leading is important, the supervisor must be someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done as well. This position is the perfect mix of strategy and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead in the creation and establishment of client media objectives, strategies and media plans

  • Responsible for creating media specific documents such as objectives and strategies decks, media plans, RFPs, POVs, and other related functions

  • Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills

  • Maintain media budgets and overall budget summaries for various accounts

  • In-depth knowledge across all major media types (National TV/Radio, Spot TV/Radio, Magazines, Newspapers, OOH and Interactive including display, programmatic, search, paid social, mobile/tablets)

  • Work closely with client and account/creative teams to create strategic media vision for client campaigns

  • Negotiate buys, partnership contracts, content integration and sponsorships with vendors/publishers

  • Skilled with syndicated research (MRI and/or Simmons, Telmar, Kantar, Nielsen, eMarketer, and with ad serving and verification resources like Sizmek, IAS or MOAT, etc.)

  • Must be able to present media plans and/or POVs clearly in writing and through in-person presentation

  • Provide creative analysis and recommendations when appropriate to improve media performance

  • In-depth knowledge of third party ad serving resources

  • Maintain strong relationships with media vendors in order to not only understand their product offerings but also to identify new and creative opportunities

  • Constantly research new market technologies and innovative solutions for clients

  • Interpret results and ensure dialogue with client and internal team to optimize future objectives

  • Assist in collaboration with accounting department to help manage accountpayables

  • Work with VP/Associate Media Director to monitor and manage profitability of Slingshot client businesses

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of media planning/buying experience
  • Strong writing, presentation, analysis, and negotiating skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
  • Computer skills required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Significant experience with offline and online research tools such as MRI and/or Simmons, Telmar, Kantar, Nielsen, eMarketer, and with ad serving and verification resources like Sizmek, IAS or MOAT, etc.
