    LINK
    TM Advertising has created a new business unit dedicated solely to nontraditional communications. Called LINK, the unit specializes in creating new ways to connect people with brands through design, advertising, street marketing, music, art, and film. First to tap LINK is Boulder, Colo.-based Spyder, a high-performance outerwear and sportswear company, that hired LINK to help build the brand and launch a new product category.

    Delta Air Lines has parted ways with its agency of record, BrightHouse. Agencies being considered for the estimated $40 million account are Lowe & Partners Worldwide; Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide; J. Walter Thompson; BBDO Worldwide; and TBWA/Chiat/Day, all in New York.

    Shanghai-based agency Nitro is creating a campaign for Twix, that will launch next month. The account is estimated at $18 million.

    Foote Cone & Belding (FCB), Irvine, Calif., selected Dastmalchi, Newport Beach, Calif., as its mobile marketing agency for the Taco Bell Los Angeles field account. Throughout the month of August, Dastmalchi's bilingual mobile marketing crew will travel in customized vehicles throughout Los Angeles promoting Taco Bell's "Late Night" message and exclusive new Mountain Dew Baja Blast beverage.

    Mediaedge:cia has been appointed to handle the media planning and buying business for Heinz in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The account was won after a three way pitch including Vizeum and OMD; incumbent Starcom did not take part in the pitch. Spending was not revealed.

    The National Pork Board awarded its estimated $10 million account to Richards Group, Dallas. The agency beat out incumbent Campbell Mithun of Chicago, Barkley Evergreen & Partners, Kansas City, Mo., and Periscope Marketing Communications, Minneapolis, for the win.

    The Martin Agency has been retained by America Online to handle a branding campaign. The Martin Agency will be responsible for conceiving and executing an assignment slated to begin in the fall. BBDO, AOL's agency of record, is in the process of creating a multi-media brand campaign also debuting this fall.

    Empire Communications has been named agency of record for InMotion Pictures, an airport retailer offering DVD players and movies to airline travelers in major airports across the country and in Canada. The agency also picked up International Spirits' Ivanabitch Vodka account. Spending was not disclosed.

    Falcon Financial Investment Trust has selected DZP Marketing Communications, New York, to design an integrated advertising and marketing campaign. The print, direct marketing, and online campaign is scheduled to launch at the end of the month. Spending was not disclosed.

    Axiss Advertising & Design has been awarded the White Party events account. The events will benefit Care Resource, South Florida's source for HIV/AIDS services. The campaign consists of both print and online elements, including banner ads, event posters, palm cards, invitations, program books, and street banners. Spending was not disclosed.

    Cronin & Company announced two new client wins -- Baronet Coffee, an importer and roaster of high quality coffees, and Capital District Physicians' Health Plan Inc. (CDPHP), a non-profit health plan based in Albany, N.Y. For Baronet, Cronin is charged with developing a business-to-business branding and positioning platform and designing a Web site. For CDPHP, the agency will develop and execute an advertising and marketing program that promotes CDPHP as an evolving health care company offering a broad range of products.
