One entry from 2000 reads: "The engines and directories that we were talking about: Lycos, Excite (almost dead by 2001), Snap (soon changed to
NBCi), LookSmart, Go (formerly Infoseek), Hotbot, AltaVista and, yes, Google." Well, you get the picture.
