Newspaper publisher A.H. Belo on Monday reported digital revenue down 4.3% to $9.3 million in the second quarter, while non-classified digital revenue increased 2.5% to $4.2 million. Overall, the
Dallas-based company reported a narrower second-quarter net loss of $171,000, or 1 cent a share, compared with a year-ago loss of $7.1 million, or 34 cents a share. Total advertising revenue was down
12% in the quarter, while total revenue fell 4.7% to $121.6 million -- "the lowest year-over-year decline in more than two years," according to
Editor & Publisher.
"We continue to manage the business to maximize operating cash flow over the long-term and monetize real estate in transactions that create value for shareholders at appropriate prices,"
said the company's chairman and CEO Robert Decherd. Meanwhile, "other" revenue increased 35%.
