Expedia Media worked closely with the Expedia Partner Services Group to secure discounted rates from hotel partners in San Diego. Then, in a single expandable unit, SDCVB offered consumers travel deals, coupons, a newsletter opt-in, activity information and related editorial content. As a result, on the days the campaign ran on Expedia.com, San Diego saw increases of 100 percent to 159 percent in the number of room nights booked. During the days of the campaign, San Diego's room night share increased 35 percent among its total competitive set.
