iPhone? No, yourPhone.

I’ve officially decided today that I will never own an iPhone.

I’ve always considered myself to be more of a PC person than a Mac person, but I do have an iPod and I use iTunes to play music on my computer. I’ve never been opposed to Apple products in general, I’ve just always preferred PCs as far as my computer is concerned. Up until today, I’ve even had it in the back of my mind that I might consider switching to an iPhone at some point down the road.

So what made me change my mind?

Before today, I had never actually used an iPhone. I borrowed my friend’s iPhone today just to take a look at it, and I really didn’t see what was so great about it. Yes, I was able to access Facebook and email along with other websites. My LG enV Touch offers those same things for a fraction of the price. Yes, the iPhone is a touch screen. But there are dozens of other touch screen phones out there, and my enV Touch along with several other phones have both a touch screen and a full keyboard, which, personally, I think is even better.

And yes, with an iPhone, I would have the ability to browse the internet while I’m making a phone call, and no, as far as I know, I can’t do that with my enV Touch, but why on earth would I ever need to? If I’m in the middle of a conversation with someone and I absolutely need to look something up, how hard is it to say, “I’m gonna look that up real quick and I’ll call you back”?

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with iPhones, but after about ten minutes with one, I can definitely say that they are not for me.
