Letter from the Publisher
MEDIA magazine is pleased to present the ninth annual Creative Media Awards competition. The winners will be selected from finalists in each of the 21 categories you will read about in this supplement. In addition, the campaign deemed most outstanding overall will take home the coveted Best in Show award.
All awards will be presented at our Creative Media Awards reception at the Yale Club of New York City on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets to the event are still available. For more information, visit mediapost.com/creativemediaawards.
These awards reinforce our firm belief that the processes of buying, planning and strategy — and the ways in which advertisers and agencies use media to deliver their messages — are every bit as creative as mocking up a print ad, rendering storyboards for TV or creating online campaigns. Those you will read about in these pages exemplify this belief, and all finalists deserve our respect and admiration.
Creative media strategists and planners are increasingly valuable. Their fine work can be seen across the board in the submissions we received. Like the industry these awards recognize, the categories of the Creative Media Awards continue to evolve. You will note that Outdoor Media and Place-Based Video are their own categories this year, and that we’ve added two new categories: Branded Entertainment and Content Marketing. We hope that the addition of these categories will give each the recognition they deserve within the industry.
It’s no easy task choosing from among top caliber entries, and it seems to get more difficult each year. Choosing the winners fell to our esteemed panel of jurors. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to this year’s jury for lending their time and expertise. (Jurors are prohibited from judging their own work.)
We sincerely hope you will join us when we name the winners and toast the finalists at the Creative Media Awards reception on Jan. 16.
Again, congratulations to the finalists, and many thanks to all who entered.
Kenneth Fadner, Publisher, MEDIA magazine and Chairman, MediaPost Communications
