BSkyB Under Pressure Over Charges to BBC

The Culture Secretary, Maria Miller, said BSkyB and other pay-TV platforms gained from access to the BBC and the other terrestrial channels. Under the current regime, the broadcasters have to pay to ensure satellite TV households can receive their channels, however. The charges were introduced at the dawn of the satellite industry, when weaker and smaller operators demanded regulatory support.
