A far-right French news weekly was placed under criminal investigation Wednesday for comparing Justice Minister Christiane Taubira, the country‘s first senior black female minister, to a monkey
on its front cover. The Paris prosecutor‘s office said it was investigating Minute newspaper for "public insults of a racial nature" after Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault filed a criminal
complaint against the publication.
