U.S. Backed "Cuban Twitter" To Subvert Government

It’s not quite the Bay of Pigs, but the U.S. government reportedly developed a social media strategy designed to undermine the Cuban government. Odder still, the relatively recent plan to launch a messaging network that could reach Cuban citizens was not the doing of the CIA. Rather, “this was a program paid for and run by the U.S. Agency for International Development, best known for overseeing billions of dollars in U.S. humanitarian aid,” The Associated Press reports.
