'Big Appetite' For Programmatic TV

David Miller, VP of product management at Invision, told Beet.TV that baby steps are still needed when it comes to programmatic TV, as it’s more “about what can be done today” rather than trying to immediately accomplish some grand vision. Invision is a software provider TV ad sellers use to manage their business, per Beet.TV.

Miller hinted that long-tail cable networks are looking into programmatic but also said sellers are concerned about price erosion.

The definition of programmatic came into question, with Miller saying some are worried about real-time bidding (RTB) and driving the price down to next-to-nothing, while others consider an electronic exchange of information to be programmatic.

Either way, Miller said there is a “big appetite” for programmatic (whatever it may be).
