Sending the business world abuzz, Tim Cook has finally gone public about his sexual orientation. “Throughout my professional life, I’ve tried to maintain a basic level of privacy,”
Apple’s CEO writes in Bloomberg Businessweek. Yet, “I’ve come to realize that my desire for personal privacy has been holding me back from doing something more important.”
Among other advantages, Cook explains that being gay “has given [him] a deeper understanding of what it means to be in the minority,” and has made him a stronger, more empathetic
person.
