Does Google's Project Zero Vulnerability Tracker Do More Harm Than Good?

A researcher found a Microsoft Windows 8.1 security hole that allows lower-level users to become administrators, giving them access to sensitive server functions they would normally have no right to access, reports Engadget. Google's policy is to report those vulnerabilities within 90 days -- supposedly giving the company, Microsoft, a window in which to report the bug itself. And what if they don't? Microsoft just found out. Some experts wonder whether Google's Zero team does more harm than good, explains Steve Dent.
