Google Hangouts Gets Its Own App, Web Site

It's likely that Google, which turned the Google+ and Gmail feature into an app, has big plans for Hangouts in Google for Work productivity suits. The video conference tool now has its own app and Web site. The site calls attention to Hangouts' three key features — instant messaging, voice calls, and video chats — with big buttons to help users identify each. Think of the tool as a combination of Meerkat or Periscope and Skype on desktop and mobile.
