NPR took a look at what constitutional scholars have been saying about the GOP front-runner’s inflammatory statements following the shootings in Southern California. Donald Trump’s statements seem to be walking a constitutional tightrope, but some scholars say that with Congressional approval, he could constitutionally ban Muslims from entering the U.S. The real constitutional trouble comes when you start trying to ban American Muslims.
