The number of users who purchase items using mobile payments are expected to rise to 15.6% of U.S. users this year, or about 37.5 million people, reports the Los Angeles Times. The total value of
mobile payment transactions in the U.S. is expected to triple this year, reaching $27 billion. eMarketer predicts that number could reach $210.5 billion in 2019. While that is only a drop in the
bucket of the total volume of credit card transactions, which is in the trillions, it shows an upward trend where mobile payments are concerned.
