Amazon plans to open up to 400 bookstores around the country, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing comments from Sandeep Mathrani, chief executive of mall operator General Growth Properties.
“That plan compares to the 640 stores Barnes & Noble operates and the 255 locations Books-A-Million Inc. said it had as of last summer,” WSJ notes.
