After Dropouts, Fox Cancels Next Week's GOP Debate

After Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Donald Trump dropped out of next week’s Fox debate, the network decided to cancel the entire event, planned to take place in Salt Lake City. Fox News EVP, Michael Clemente, said: “Obviously, there needs to be more than one participant.” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz poked at Trump, “Donald apparently is ducking; he’s afraid of being challenged.”

    There is a question of how long Trump can continue to fool his followers by being ambiguous or secretive about the details and practicality of his positions on key issues. Participation in real debates with only 3 participants would have put great pressure on him to show some substance. This is one reason why one on one debates with Clinton will assure his loss in the election.
