'Atlantic' Video Team Gets New Name, Sponsored Series

The Atlantic’s video team has a new name, executive producer and line-up of sponsored shows for this fall.

Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg, the first employee of The Atlantic’s video team, will now lead the department as general manager and executive producer, according to a memo from The Atlantic president Bob Cohn.

Her first major move in her new role is to change the name of The Atlantic’s video department from Atlantic Video to Atlantic Studios, “to better reflect the current reality as well as our considerable ambitions,” Cohn wrote.

Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg will continue to oversee the creative teams that produce and post The Atlantic’s video content, as well as be responsible for The Atlantic's overall video strategy.

She will oversee growth on and off The Atlantic platform and provide guidance to Re:think, the company's native marketing group, "as video becomes an increasing part of native solutions,” Cohn wrote.

Atlantic Studios will produce three new series this fall, sponsored by Microsoft, Netflix and JP Morgan Chase: "Saturday Night in America" (Microsoft), "Women & Leadership" (Netflix) and "American Futures" (JPMC).
