Paper magazine, the hip downtown title that laid off its entire staff in April, two months before being acquired by Street Legal, is back, with Justin Moran as
editor-in-chief.
Moran returns after an earlier stint as EIC that began in July 2022, according to
WWD. The relaunch will take place this fall.
“I am excited to work under queer ownership, as we continue Paper’s core mission of championing fresh, new voices and amplifying them to a mass audience online,” Moran
said. “Creating space for stories largely overlooked by mainstream media is more important than ever, and we will make that our priority yet again as we rebuild this platform."
The layoffs in April were attributed to declining advertising sales. Moran joined the publication in 2017 as a digital managing editor. Paper began
in 1984.
