Conveying a Message

In their quest to colonize all available space at the local grocery store, advertisers have plastered ads on the carts, on the shelves, on the floor, even directly on the eggs. Now Little Rock, Ark.-based firm enVision Marketing Group has gotten onto the belt — the conveyer belt, that is.

Yes, those revolving blank canvases we all encounter in the checkout line have become the newest marketing destination. EnVision’s patented Ads-n-Motion system, which allows full-color digital images to be printed directly onto belts, has captured the attention (and business) of several national retailers, including Kroger and Harps Food Stores. In exchange for implementing the ad-friendly conveyors, stores receive a percentage of gross advertising sales along with free belt installation and maintenance.
