Live Search has added snow conditions to its roster of Instant Answers, so searchers who input resort names like "Deer Valley" will find a box with info on items like lift status, weather conditions and base depth right in the organic results.

Related queries like "Park City snowboarding" will also turn up the snow report content boxes, with a maximum of four in the results-but entering an ambiguous term like "black diamond" will not turn up one of the Instant Answers. OnTheSnow.com is the company powering the ski conditions info for MSN.br>

Vanessa Fox finds that Ask is the only other search engine to provide such robust ski and snowboard info on select searches (powered by SnoCountry.com). While Google offers ski resort listings, complete with sitelinks that likely lead to conditions info, Yahoo's results are just standard text-only fare.
