iWant my podcast now

I long for a time when my iPod will download content while I'm on the go.

I downloaded the CNN podcast this morning when I docked my iPod, but I haven't docked that iPod since then. In fact, I won't dock that iPod until I get home tonight, maybe even tomorrow morning.

Lame. Now I'll have to listen to music.

You've just missed me, podcasters. You had me on the way to school/work/play, but not on the way back. Everything on my pod is old news now. I can't sync at work because of my iPod's monogamous relationship policy with my desktop computer. At least let me update my podcasts!

Afternoon newspapers update the stories morning newspapers broke. Granted, these papers are a dying breed, but that's because modern technology (the Internet namely) has replaced their need.

If my iPod/phone/touch or related mobile device is expected to be my constant update on the world, it needs to be constantly updated.

That has been one of the great (and under-advertised) things about my PSP - it just automatically connects up to a wireless network and grabs my subscribed podcasts. So, just leaving it my bag, I have current TV news podcasts to watch on the train on the way in in the morning, and additional new stuff to watch & listen to on the way home.

You dont have to wait until steve jobs decides its a worthwhile feature. Ibiza Rhapsody does this now.
