Get your stories into search engines by building perfect keyword strings that will rank you high on the first page of a search query, suggests Janet the blogger. If you come up high on the page of results, you're more likely to get covered by reporters and noticed by business partners, clients, reporters and friends.

SEO is money well-spent. It will augment your personalized email pitches, where you put the topic in the subject line and get right to the point. Email is likely the best way to reach a reporter, but SEO will get your marketing materials and articles into the top few listing of a search query.
