  • MS FrontPage: Ads Included

    Commission Junction, a pay-for-performance ad network, has been integrated into Microsoft FrontPage website creation software. Previously, Web developers inserted advertising into a site through the slow process of cutting and pasting ad links from a separate application. Now, while in the FrontPage application, a Web developer simply clicks on a pull-down menu displaying Commission Junction as an option. The technology allows the developers to become members of Commission Junction's ad network without leaving the application.   • SMU Establishes Temerlin Ad Institute

    Southern Methodist University today announced that it is renaming its Division of Advertising the Temerlin Advertising Institute for Education and Research, honoring Liener Temerlin's contributions to the city and the advertising profession. The announcement was made at a campus ceremony today attended by members of the University community and leaders in the communications industry. The new institute is being made possible by lead gifts totaling more than $6 million pledged by friends and associates of Temerlin, chairman emeritus of Dallas-based Temerlin McClain advertising, marketing and communications agency.
