  • HUGO LAI has joined Universal McCann San Francisco (UM SF) as VP group media director. Lai will lead strategic media development for UM SF’s technology accounts, focusing primarily on Microsoft’s IT/Developer efforts. He was most recently vp associate media director at Optimedia @ Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco. Lai helped lead the Hewlett-Packard account through their merger with Compaq, and managed their pre-merger B2B media efforts in 15 countries worldwide. He has also managed Acer Corp. globally, and worked on General Motors, Sprint PCS, Clinique and Sees Candies accounts, among others.

  • CRAIG LAMBERT has joined Zentropy Partners as senior vice president and managing director. Lambert will lead Zentropy’s New York office, whose clients include Maybelline, Nikon and Microsoft XBOX Live, among others. Lambert was most recently managing director of the New York office of Modem Media. Over the past seven years he has spearheaded interactive marketing, commerce and online CRM work for Avon, IBM, AT&T Wireless, JCPenny, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and M&M/Mars, among others. Also, Lambert worked in advertising account management with Ammirati & Puris, DDB/Needham and Chiat/Day, all in New York.

  • The Chicago office of Draft, Inc. has named HELENE ROSENBLUM senior vice president, group account director. Rosenblum comes to Draft following a career at Leo Burnett Company, where she was responsible for large-scale programs and businesses, with specific emphasis on direct and DRTV, customer relationship management, and integrated marketing efforts. At Draft, she will be working with clients to put together complex multi-channel direct response programs across multiple integrated marketing components including direct mail, DRTV, print and digital, as well as CRM.

  • Meanwhile, the New York office of Draft has hired PHILIP D'ADDIO (left) as vice president, director of modeling and analysis, and MICHAEL GOLDSTEIN (right) as vice president, management supervisor. D'Addio joins Draft from Rapp Collins Worldwide, where he was director of client services for its Marketing Technology Group. In his new post, D'Addio will be responsible for the integration of targeted segmentation strategies and analytics into Draft's client marketing programs. Goldstein rejoins Draft's account service team after being an account director at Korey Kay & Partners. He previously worked at Draft from 1996 through 2000.

  • VIRGINIA HEALEY, marketing services director of W, has been promoted to associate publisher, marketing. Healey has served as the marketing services director of W for the past three years. Previously she was the director of promotion and retail merchandising of Glamour.

  • MarketWatch.com has opened an Atlanta sales office and named ERIN AYSCUE HOWARD as account manager. In her new position, Howard will be responsible for advertising sales for the Company’s online properties, CBS MarketWatch and BigCharts, in the southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. Prior to joining MarketWatch, Howard was account director, interactive marketing for AOL.

  • The Babcock Advertising Agency of Fairfax, Virginia has hired MELISSA BROWN as media director and AMANDA LOWE as director of new business development. Brown previously worked at A&W Media and Lowe previously worked at LBOC, Inc.

  • Quigo Technologies Inc., a developer of proprietary search solutions for online contextual advertising, search engine marketing and business intelligence, has added DAVID JAKUBOWSKI to its management team as senior vice president. Jakubowski will be responsible for leading sales and business development activities for Quigo's AdSonar contextual ad serving technology. Most recently, he was vice president of business development at United, the parent company of Juno Online and NetZero, and was responsible for advertising sales, business development and client management.

  • Reality Central, a 24/7 cable television network devoted solely to reality television shows, news, its stars and fans, named KAREN MILLER executive vice president of programming & marketing. Miller will have oversight responsibilities for all areas of the channel's programming and marketing, including acquisitions, development and production, program and marketing administration and strategies.

  • SUSAN BANKS has been named vice president of marketing and creative services of TV One, the new cable television network targeting adult African American and urban viewers that is scheduled to launch in January 2004. In this position, Banks will be responsible for development and implementation of the network’s consumer marketing and brand strategy, including on-air promotion and consumer marketing. She joins TV One from the CBS Television Network, where since 1992 she has been director of on-air promotion in charge of planning, scheduling and creating promotions for the network’s daytime and children’s programming lineup.

  • A pair of former Interpublic Group executives are launching a new company to create and implement permission-based, mobile phone marketing programs in local markets, worldwide. Called Mynamics, the firm is led by MARK TIMBRELL, as CEO, based in London. WES BRAY is CEO of U.S. operations, which are located in Essex, Conn. Both Timbrell and Bray are former chief executives of Interpublic's Marketing Drive Worldwide.

  • DVC Worldwide, an integrated marketing services company, announced the appointment of ANTONY MILNER as senior vice president of new business development. Prior to joining DVC, Milner was the vice president of global marketing for AT&T where he was responsible for AT&T Business Services group's marketing communications, business brand initiatives, business advertising, sponsorships and strategic events. He also oversaw regional marketing support teams in Asia and Europe.
