  • Modem Media has hired JONATHAN ADAMS as media director. Adams was most recently senior partner and group media director of WPP's mOne, the interactive media arm of OgilvyOne Worldwide and Mindshare. In his new role, Adams will assume media management responsibilities for the Delta Air Lines account.

  • 24/7 Real Media has promoted JONATHAN K. HSU to chief financial officer. Hsu has been with 24/7 Real Media since March 2000, serving as senior vice president, corporate development and strategic planning. Prior to joining 24/7 Real Media, Hsu was a senior associate with JP Morgan Securities, specializing in global mergers and acquisitions. He also was a partner of a venture capital firm, American Lead Ventures.

  • PETE KRAINIK has been named chief marketing officer for DoubleClick. Krainik will be responsible for the company's global marketing strategy and play a key role in helping the company expand its sales channel into key vertical markets in 2004. Krainik joins DoubleClick from Siebel Systems, Inc. where he was vice president and general manager of the Consumer Goods division.

  • Euro RSCG Worldwide announced that DAVID JONES has been appointed to the newly-created position of executive vice president, managing director, global business. Jones will be responsible for the practice of global brand management across all of Euro RSCG's global brands. Prior to this appointment, Jones served as global brand director for Reckitt Benckiser since winning the business in April 2002, and will continue to serve in that role in addition to his new responsibilities. Jones joined Euro RSCG in Australia in 1998, as CEO.

  • ISM, a Boston-based advertising and marketing firm specializing in the travel and leisure industries, has added staff to its media department. LESLIE WATKINS has been named media planner and will work on Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, American Express and the Massachusetts Port Authority accounts. EMILY COLEMAN has been named assistant media planner/buyer. Prior to joining ISM, she worked at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office.

  • CHUCK SHAW has been named vice president, account director at ID Media's New York office. Prior to joining ID, Shaw was vice president, associate media director at Grey Direct. Prior to Grey, Shaw was media supervisor at Digitas working primarily on American Express.

  • VANESSA HENRY-JACKSON (pictured) has returned to E. Morris Communications as associate media director. Henry-Jackson is responsible for management and strategic media development for the Wal-Mart and Abbott Laboratories accounts. During her previous stint at EMC, she was a media supervisor, responsible for the daily media management of Oldsmobile, Wal-Mart, Hefty, Illinois Bureau of Tourism and Ralston Purina accounts. Also at EMC, LESLIE D. BURNS has been named senior account executive, client services. She will be responsible for day-to-day management of the Wal-Mart and American Family Insurance accounts.

  • RICK BONTI and ANDREA GREEN, both formerly advertising sales managers, have been named advertising sales directors for USA TODAY. In addition to their current responsibilities, Bonti will direct the technology sales category and Green will direct the travel category. Bonti began his career at USA TODAY in 1998 as an automotive category representative in New York. Green began her career at USA TODAY in 1998 as New York advertising manager overseeing travel, retail and credit card categories.

  • Forbes.com announced that JOHN BRADY has joined the company as regional sales manager, based on the East Coast, with responsibility for accounts in Manhattan, as well as Westchester and Fairfield Counties in the tri-state area. Brady was most recently senior sales manager at Quicken.com, where he launched their bank and brokerage sales channel.

  • Genex, a Web design and development firm, has named veteran e-business strategist KATHERINE BUTTLER client partner in its Atlanta office. She has held numerous leadership roles in Atlanta’s Web consulting sector, most recently that of vice president of client solutions for Plexus M/2, where she developed integrated marketing and e-business solutions for clients in the metro Atlanta area.

  • ROB GREGORY has been named group publisher of Maxim magazine. Gregory had been publisher of Rolling Stone magazine since March 2001. Earlier at Wenner Media, Gregory was the publisher of Men’s Journal.

  • MIKE DEBARTOLO has been promoted to executive vice president of Fairchild Publications' B2B division. DeBartolo previously served as vice president, group publisher of Fairchild's Business-to-Business Division, which publishes six trade magazines and their ancillary line extensions. Prior to joining Fairchild in May 2000, DeBartolo served as the national sales manager at Glamour. He has also held positions including global advertising director at Reader’s Digest, and the regional manager (Detroit)/account executive (Chicago) at TV Guide.

  • Hammerhead Advertising has hired MICHELLE BAXTER as account director. Prior to Hammerhead, Baxter was a senior account supervisor with Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners where she most recently worked on Song, the low-cost carrier to Delta Airlines.

  • Meredith Corporation announced that RUTH GAVIRIA has been named the director of Hispanic ventures for the Meredith Magazine Group. Gaviria most recently served as the director of marketing and brand development for People En Espanol. In this role, Gaviria was responsible for creating and establishing a full-service marketing operation for the title and developing signature branded events as well as proprietary research initiatives.

  • TRIO has promoted JASON KLARMAN to senior vice president of marketing. The company also added DAVID SERWATKA as director of original programming and ELMA CREMIN as director of acquisitions. Klarman, who joined TRIO as VP of marketing in May 2001, has been responsible for overseeing TRIO's rebranding as well as its overall marketing strategy. Serwatka will oversee production and development of various original series and documentaries, and Cremin will research and curate all program stunts, specials and inventory programming.

  • Brand communications group ATTIK has hired AMY ELKINS as account director. Before joining ATTIK, Elkins worked with Mercedes Benz USA, where she was responsible for advertising production and development – which included a focus on new marketing plans targeted to the youth sector.

  • STEVE CRANE has been named Midwestern manager of the Chicago office of the James G. Elliott Company, an independent magazine and newspaper advertising sales and consulting firm. Crane will be responsible for the advertising sales efforts for Elliott Company clients including the ABA Journal, MyBusiness Magazine, The ProFive Professionals Media Network, The Journal of the American Dietitian, and The Rotarian.

  • Zinio Systems has named MIKE PERLIS as chairman of the board. Perlis will be responsible for board management and also serve as strategic and market advisor to the company.

  • Knight Ridder Digital's Real Cities Network has hired SCOTT THOMPSON to head their Midwest sales expansion. Most recently, Thompson was with Liquidus Marketing in Chicago leading its Business Development effort.

  • New Line Television has promoted LEHEL REEVES to vice president, East Coast Region. Reeves, who has been with New Line for eight years, previously served as sales manager, Northeast Region. As part of the domestic television group, Reeves will sell New Line Television’s first-run syndicated series, specials and theatrical movie packages.

  • New Mexico-based agency McKee Wallwork Henderson has hired JULIE OTTMAR as media coordinator. Ottmar is responsible for coordinating print and outdoor advertising statewide and nationally.

  • HSR Business to Business named JULIE MORSE to the position of senior client service executive. Morse will lead the integrated marketing communications efforts of such agency clients as Hobart and Flight Options.
