  • MSNBC.com today appointed CHARLIE TILLINGHAST publisher and general manager. In addition to managing MSNBC.com’s day-to-day business operations, Tillinghast will set and direct MSNBC.com’s business priorities, manage the company’s editorial organization, and oversee new technology development.

  • Omincom Group's DDB Worldwide, New York, has promoted MATT FREEMAN to the newly created post of worldwide CEO, Tribal DDB Worldwide. Freeman had served as CEO of Tribal DDB North America, and was the founding partner and chief creative officer of DDB Digital in the U.S., one of the six companies that combined to form Tribal DDB Worldwide in 2000. In his new role, Freeman is expected to globally and regionally represent Tribal to the advertising industry, in the press, and at new business pitches.

  • BRIAN BAUMGART has joined Fastclick, Inc., as vice president of business development. Baumgart was previously co-founder of Pacific Media Project, LLC and before that was a vice president at L90, Inc. (now MaxOnline). Baumgart will drive the expansion of Fastclick's inventory and handle Fastclick's larger online publisher accounts.

  • SMITHSONIAN Magazine has named MARY WRIGHT travel marketing manager. Wright joins the magazine from Better Homes & Gardens WOOD magazine, where she served as senior marketing services manager. Previously, Wright worked as the marketing manager for Biography Magazine.

  • aQuantive president BRIAN MCANDREWS has joined the board of directors of Blue Nile, an online jeweler. McAndrews will serve on Blue Nile's compensation, nominating, and corporate governance committees. Prior to joining aQuantive in 1999, McAndrews held executive positions at ABC Sports, Entertainment and the ABC Television Network, and General Mills.

  • Adweek Magazines' new title, Marketing y Medios, targeted to marketers serving the U.S. Hispanic population, announced the hiring of MICHAEL HATHERILL and LAURA MARTINEZ as publisher and editor, respectively.

  • KEITH A. ULRICH has been named vice president/automotive director for PARADE Publications. He will be based in the magazine's Detroit office. Prior to joining PARADE, Ulrich was group senior vice president-group account director at BBDO Worldwide, responsible for Chrysler Brand and Passenger Cars. While there, he led development and executed Chrysler's sponsorship of the hit television series "The Apprentice."

  • WWD Media Worldwide announced that SARAH MURPHY has been promoted to publisher, beauty and marketing, of WWD Media Worldwide, a newly created position. Murphy joined Fairchild in 2002 as publisher of WWD Beauty Biz. In her new position, she will oversee the marketing efforts for Women’s Wear Daily, WWD Beauty Biz, Beauty Report International, and Children’s Business.

  • National Cable Communications, a spot cable advertising rep firm, has named BOB CURCURUTO as chief financial officer. In this position, Curcuruto will oversee all finance and accounting operations of NCC, as well as the human resources and client services divisions. He replaces CHRISTINE HOWLETT, who recently retired.

  • BARBARA VENTURELLI, previously assistant consumer marketing director for both Popular Science and GOLF Magazine, has been promoted to consumer marketing director of Popular Science. Also at Time4Media, MIKE WYWODA has been named as the director of consumer marketing of GOLF Magazine. Wywoda joins Time4 Media from Sports Illustrated, where he most recently served as marketing and business director for SI’s News and Entertainment cluster.

  • UNreal Marketing Solutions welcomes RICHARD KALSON to its team as a sales executive. Prior to joining UNreal Marketing, Kalson served as a sales representative for Telular Corporation, a wireless securities provider.

  • ANDY MCGINNIS has joined Greteman Group as account executive. Before joining Greteman Group, McGinnis served as a consultant for clients in sports marketing, telecommunications, finance, healthcare, trucking, construction, public utilities and governmental, political, and civic groups.

  • Zinio Systems, Inc. has named SCOTT KAUFFMAN as president and chief executive officer. Kauffman will be responsible for the strategic development and management of more than 120 digital magazines that Zinio distributes globally. He joins Zinio from MusicNow where he served as president and CEO, and succeeds MIKE EDELHART who served as CEO for two years.

  • Philadelphia agency SFGT has hired PETER NUNZIATO as account director, handling existing clients and new business. Nunziato has held account director positions at Integer Group and Fitzgerald & Co., both Atlanta, and, most recently, at EastWest Creative, New York. His client experience includes Coca-Cola, Cingular Wireless, Chiquita Banana, and Mentos.

  • Former Atlanta Flames goaltender DAN BOUCHARD has joined Spectator Advertising Solutions as vice president corporate sponsorships. Since leaving the NHL, Bouchard has worked with sports equipment manufacturers in a variety of roles, has toured the speakers’ circuit as a motivational lecturer and was head coach of LIFE University’s hockey squad.

  • REBECCA WEEKS has been hired by iMedia Communications as content director for the company's quarterly Summits. Weeks has been a contributing iMedia newsletter journalist since October and was most recently director of strategic marketing at interactive agency Citrus.
