  • ABC Radio Networks has named JOE O'LOUGHLIN as an account executive in its New York City office. O'Loughlin will contribute to ABC Radio Networks' sales efforts in Boston and New York.


  • Klipmart has hired MATT PASTERNAK as senior vice president, sales. Pasternak replaces RICK KLECKZOWSKI who has been promoted to vice president, business development. He joins the company from InsightExpress.


  • R/GA has named BARBARA CANNING BROWN as director of analytics/CRMand JUDY OPPENHEIM as director of research. Canning Brown joins R/GA after five years within Interpublic (IPG) sister agencies FCB/ANALYTICi, Draft, and The Sloan Group. Prior to joining R/GA, Oppenheim was vice president, the Corporate Internet Group at JPMorgan (JPM) Chase where she was responsible for satisfaction studies, competitive intelligence, custom research, and trend analysis.


  • Wunderman has named SEAN HOWARD as global client services for Microsoft and SETH ROMANOW has been named global client services director for servers and tools for Microsoft. Wunderman New York has brought on TANYA SHEPLEY as management supervisor for its AstraZeneca business. She will focus on the Arimidex account. Lastly, Wunderman Chicago has promoted DAN RICHLEN tovice president, account director.


  • VNU Business Media has appointed DEREK IRWIN as chief financial officer. Before joining VNU, Irwin was CFO of Ziff Davis Media where he was responsible for investor relations and managing the operating and financial efficiencies of Ziff's business and consumer magazines, as well as its Web sites.


  • DAN SCHNEIDER has joined Winstar’s sales organization as a site planner, a newly created position. In addition, Winstar has promoted RACHEL JARVIS from vice president of sales, Midwest to senior vice president of national sales. BARBI JURMAN has been promoted from sales planner to director of planning.


  • STEPHEN ROCHE has been named brand director at the Time4 Media Marine Group, publishers of Yachting, Motor Boating, and Salt Water Sportsman magazines. Roche joins Time4 Media from the Primedia Outdoors Group, where he served as director of marketing services for 17 consumer titles including Guns & Ammo, Hunting, andFlorida Sportsman.


  • JAIME SABERITO has been named director, corporate communications, for both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. Prior to joining Hallmark Channel, Saberito spent nearly seven years at Rainbow Media.


  • The Economist has named SUSAN CLARK to the newly created position of global marketing director, responsible for development of The Economist brand, including brand advertising and public relations. Clark will oversee Economist.com, Intelligent Life magazine, and The World In magazine. In addition, she will be responsible for circulation marketing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In addition, JASON WEBBY has been appointed vice president, advertising, North America. In his role, Webby will oversee all aspects of advertising sales for The Economist in North America, in both print and online at Economist.com.


  • Horizon Media has named RUSSELL NATHAN to the post of vice president, account group head in New York. Nathan comes to Horizon from Deutsch where he was most recently vice president, director of AOR media services, in charge of overseeing all media activity on the Revlon, Us Magazine and Sports Authority accounts. 


  • Universal McCann has hired NICK BRIEN as president/chief executive officer. He was most recently CEO of Arc Worldwide.


  • Hard Rock International has named ANNIE BALLIRO as regional director of marketing. For the past five years, Balliro has been senior director of marketing/product management for the Island Def Jam Music Group. Balliro will be spearheading Hard Rock’s marketing efforts for the Eastern region.


  • Ad Partners, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based agency, has hired JILL BOLLERO as a media buyer. Previously, Bollero worked on accounts including Coca-Cola and Subway. She has worked as an on-site agency trainer for Strata Marketing in Chicago, and has also been a media buyer for MZD Advertising and other Chicago agencies.


  • MÓNICA GIL has joined Nielsen Media Research as vice president of communications and community affairs. Gil is a former Telemundo executive and political advisor to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. She will direct Nielsen Media Research's communications and community outreach initiatives in California.


  • JASON BURNS has been hired as vice president, development for Alta Loma Entertainment, a subsidiary of Playboy Enterprises Inc. Most recently, Burns was the head of the reality/unscripted division at the Gersh Agency.


  • CosmoGIRL! has named KEITH GORDON executive director of marketing and JENNIFER SHAENER director of marketing and integration. Previously, Gordon was a partner and chief marketing officer at Goralnick Associates. Most recently, Shaener was marketing director at CosmoGIRL!


  • Discovery Networks has promoted JOSEPH CZARKOWSKI to vice president/national sales manager to oversee advertising sales efforts for Discovery Health Channel and BBC America. Most recently, Czarkowski served as account executive for Discovery Networks, representing advertising sales efforts for Discovery Channel and Travel Channel.


  • Real Branding has added KRISTIAN SCHWARTZ as group account director and GREG BERMAN as media director. Schwartz comes to Real Branding from Avenue A/Razorfish where he was client director on the Visa account. Berman joins the agency from Beyond Interactive/Grey San Francisco, where he held several account, media management, and supervisory positions.


  • AdSpace Networks has promoted MARC GALIANO to director of national accounts and has hired MIRIAM ANANIA as a local sales manager.


  • People en Español has named MICHAEL MILLER to national advertising sales director. In his new position, Miller will be responsible for spearheading the magazine's national advertising sales efforts, in addition to managing and directing the national ad sales team. Most recently, Miller was the Northwest sales manager for Business 2.0 magazine.


  • 180solutions has named MARK IPPOLITO as vice president of sales. Ippolito is responsible for all aspects of advertising sales for the company’s MetricsDirect division.


  • GM Planworks, the full-service media division within Starcom MediaVest Group, has named media director BRIAN ELWARNER a senior vice president of the agency. Prior to Planworks, Elwarner worked as a media supervisor for Cadillac at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
