  • Gemstar-TV Guide International promoted JOHN MOAKLEY to senior vice president, data solutions group, a newly created position. In this role, Moakley will lead the company’s data collection and distribution business. Previously, he served as vice president, technology for Gemstar-TV Guide’s content infrastructure group.


  • Thomas Taber & Drazen named TRISHA SMITH as human resources director / office manager. Smith will be responsible for managing the internal aspects of growth and organization for the agency.


  • BBDO New York promoted chief creative officer BILL BRUCE to chairman of the New York office. He will continue to partner with DAVID LUBARS, chairman and chief creative officer, BBDO North America, to oversee all of BBDO New York’s creative output.


  • Y&R Brands/BrandBuzz promoted GWYNNE GAUNTLETT to associate director, digital. She currently works on the Lord & Taylor and LG Electronics accounts, including LG Mobile.


  • The VIA Group hired AMOS GOSS as a copywriter. Prior to joining VIA, Goss served as an associate writer/producer for FOX Sports in Los Angeles.


  • Kilgannon hired VIRGINIA RUHMKORFF as associate media director, brand contact and STEVE CLOSE as senior media buyer, brand contact. Previously, Ruhmkorff worked at Initiative, where she was responsible for magazine planning for various divisions of BellSouth. Prior to joining Kilgannon, Close negotiated buys for McDonald's while working as a senior media buyer at Moroch & Associates.


  • PATRICK ROGGE joined Response Media as chief innovation officer, overseeing the development of new business and customer-centric new products and enhanced services. He was most recently vice president and general manager of interactive marketing services for Epic Cycle Interactive.


  • SERGEI KUHARSKY was named general manager for Food Network. Kuharsky joins Food Network from In Demand Networks, where he served as evp, sales and marketing.


  • Eloda Corporation hired STANLEY KATZ as vice president, US operations and technology.


  • ADAM PROIA joined PJA Advertising and Marketing as senior studio specialist. Most recently, Proia spent three years as a senior mechanical specialist at Allen & Gerritsen, where he worked on the 99 Restaurants and Honey Dew Donuts, among others.


  • Sundance Channel has restructured its marketing department, tapping KIM GABELMANN to head up its Branded Entertainment & Sponsorship division. Joining Gabelmann’s team is TODD PETERS as director of sponsorship sales and JAIME PRZEKOP as sales marketing manager. In addition, CRISTINA DOWDELL was hired as director, affiliate marketing & VOD. She is responsible for working with the Sundance Channel affiliate sales team to develop affiliate marketing and VOD initiatives. GREG VUONO was promoted to supervisor, affiliate marketing & VOD, from affiliate marketing coordinator. LISA ELLENBOGEN was promoted to vice president, consumer marketing, up from director, consumer marketing. Lastly, LAURA GIACALONE was promoted to director, consumer marketing, up from manager, marketing.


  • MARLENE PAPPAS joined Rapp Collins Worldwide as media strategist. Pappas will oversee media partner relationships and emerging media trends for both the LA and Dallas offices.


  • Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation named TERRY HOLMSTROM vice president of client activation, a newly created division. Prior to joining Rainbow, Holmstrom was vice president, promotions marketing for ABC Cable Networks Group.


  • Aqua Media Direct tapped TOM DOYLE, former CEO of Pivotal Media, as CEO.


  • Stand Advertising named LINDSAY SYKES traffic coordinator on all accounts.


  • W Communications and design firm Struck Design merged to form STRUCK, a creative agency. STEVE DRIGGS joined Struck as partner and executive creative director. Driggs joins from Fallon Worldwide, where he served as group creative director. In addition, JASON BANGERTER was named president and CEO and RYAN GOODWIN was named executive design director.


  • Enterprise IG named PETER GASSIRARO group account director. Most recently, Gassiraro was vice president, account director at Corsair.


  • ID Media promoted FIONA LAM to vice president, account director; KIRK PRATT to account director; LISA MARTIN to senior production specialist; THEODORE NADELL to senior account executive; MEGAN MAJCHROWICZ to broadcast supervisor; FARAH NABI to senior broadcast buyer; and EDWARD GRAFT to broadcast buyer.


  • ImpreMedia hired SCOTT MAUTNER as general counsel. Most recently, Mautner served as the general counsel of WestCom Holdings Corp., a provider of telecom services to the banking and financial communities.


  • ROBERT BONOMO joined VentureDirect Worldwide as the director of distribution, responsible for affiliate, media buys, email, co-registration, and other forms of media.


  • MICHAEL FLOOD has been named a senior account executive at Travel Ad Network and BENJAMIN JOHNSON joined the company as vice president of information technology.


  • AvatarLabs appointed DONNA ARROGANTE as online media designer.


  • ELLEN KNABLE joined ka-chew!’s Punch Company as executive producer and will oversee all national sales efforts. She will also run the sales and marketing efforts for ka-chew! in animation for the West and Midwest.


  • MIKE SANDERS was named chief financial officer of EMAK. ROY DAR, currently vice president, controller, has been promoted to senior vice president, controller. DUANE JOHNSON, currently vice president, human resources, has been promoted to senior vice president, human resources. Lastly, BRIAN KRISTOFEK, currently president of EMAK’s Upshot agency, has been promoted to chief executive officer, Upshot.


  • Blast Radius named BARRY YATES as chief operating officer. Most recently, Yates was the president & CEO of Antarctica Systems, a business intelligence software company.


  • DraftFCB tapped JIM LUCAS tohead the agency's newly formed Shopper Marketing Division. Lucas will serve as executive vice president and director of the new retail-centric unit, headquartered in Chicago. The unit will help retailers, manufacturers and service providers to further understand and motivate shoppers within today's retail environments.


  • ABIGAIL TULLER has been named the editor-in-chief of Pregnancy magazine, beginning with the June issue. She was most recently editorial director and operations manager for Cherry Lane.


  • Mediaplex promoted ANDREW BROOKS to regional sales manager for the western region. He will head up West Coast sales for Mediaplex's MOJO technology solutions.


  • LESLEY REIDER, formerly with The Bravo Group, joined Lowe Worldwide as a project manager.


  • Tango named CARRIE SLOAN as its editor-in-chief. Current editor-in-chief HILARY BLACK will be pursuing a book project, while continuing to be a contributing editor to Tango. Sloan served as an editor at Details, Mademoiselle, ELLEgirl, Seventeen and most recently, Marie Claire, where she was a senior editor.


  • Explore Communications hired BRIN SCHWARTZ as a media coordinator.


  • Cramer-Krasselt hired JULIEANN VUKOVICH as its senior vice president/director of human resources. She joins C-K from BBDO where she spent the last 13 years handling strategic planning, recruitment, orientation, performance management, compensation, training and employee relations.


  • Aspen Marketing Services named GARRIN KAPECKI as vice president of business-to-business. Kapecki will oversee account teams supporting Aspen Marketing’s current B2B clients as well as pursuing new business opportunities. Prior to joining Aspen, Kapecki was vice president of marketing at Meridian Media Group.


  • CINDY DREIBELBIS, executive vice president of advertising operations and RANDY SNOW, executive vice president and creative director were elevated to partners at R&R Partners.
