NBC's new digital channel, New York Nonstop, kicks off Monday at 5 a.m., billed as a "local information and lifestyle channel," not just a news channel. NYN will have news updates every 15 minutes,
but the only fixed show is the 7 p.m. hour anchored by Chuck Scarborough, a longtime local NBC TV anchor. (He continues to do the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on Ch. 4). The channel is more like a Web site
than a traditional TV station; it is geared to younger viewers that want quick, fast information; some of which is provided from bloggers.
