Elevator Ad Network Incorporates New Rich Media Capability
Jan 29, 2001, 8:55 AM
Captivate Network, Inc., the digital media company that delivers targeted content and advertising to office tower elevators, today announced that it has expanded and enhanced advertising capabilities for its wireless network of elevator screens. Responding to advertisers' desires for greater screen "real estate," Captivate has expanded messaging area to occupy one-third of its screens, giving advertisers a more prominent advertising space without incurring any additional costs. Additionally, Captivate has upgraded its high-resolution, LCD screens to include full-motion video through the addition of MPEG and Macromedia Flash technology. With this upgrade, advertisers can use footage from current broadcast campaigns to provide consistency across multiple media. According to Pathfinder Research, riders have responded to Captivate screens with a 94% approval rating, with 70% reading ads and recall rates on par with broadcast and radio, and significantly higher than print.
Captivate has deployed more than 1800 flat panel, silent screens that can be seen in the elevators of Class A office towers nationwide.
