Sales Fall Again At Whole Foods Market

  • May 14, 2009
As consumers continue to cut back on food spending, Whole Foods Market says that while overall sales for its second quarter were in line with last year's results, comparable store sales fell 4.8%, and identical-store sales dropped 5.8%.

"Despite flat sales year over year, we exhibited strong expense control leading to a 10% increase in income from operations," the company says. --Sarah Mahoney
