Hispanic Television Network Inc. said Tuesday it signed a 10-year contract that will let it negotiate distribution agreements with Time Warner cable systems throughout the United States. Hispanic Television, based in Fort Worth, is trying to carve out a niche serving Mexican-American viewers in the United States. The U.S. market for Spanish-speaking viewers is dominated by Univision and Telemundo. Hispanic Television said the agreement with Time Warner was its first major cable carriage deal. Financial terms were not disclosed, although the television company said it would earn subscriber fees from each cable system.
