Google Adds Location Service For iPhone Browser

  • July 17, 2009
Google has introduced a new service for the iPhone OS 3.0 that makes it easier for mobile users to get local results. By turning on the MyLocation feature from Google.com on the Safari browser, someone can search for "jazz clubs" or "movie theaters" nearby without having to enter a specific location. Tapping an "update" link allows users to change their location. The feature requires users to opt in and can be turned off at any time. People can also search with My Location using the Google Mobile App for the iPhone. --Mark Walsh
