World Series Wins Wednesday

broadcastingcable.com - The fourth game of the World Series led Fox to victory on Wednesday night, while Bette continued to do her thing at CBS. Fox's coverage of the Subway Series brought the network first place finishes in total viewers (16.2 million), households (11.5/19) and in adults 18-49 (6.7/19). Fox's actual game coverage averaged 17.6 million viewers and a 12.6/21 in households, according to Nielsen Media Research. NBC managed to finish in second place across the board Wednesday night with its three-drama lineup. NBC saw growth in new drama "Titans," which grew 30% from last week to a 3.5/10 in adults 18-49 and 77% gain in adults 18-34 (3.9/12). "The West Wing" continued to hold steady, averaging nearly the same numbers it did the week before, 16.6 million viewers and a 6.2/15 in adults 18-49. And "Law & Order" matched "The West Wing" in viewers (16.6 million) and grew in adults 18-49 (6.6/17). Over at CBS, Bette Midler's 8 p.m. comedy won it's time period for the third straight week in all areas (it didn't face baseball on the East Coast), averaging a 4.2/13 in adults 18-49, 12 million viewers and an 8.4/14 in households. Bette did drop slightly though from the week before, when the comedy averaged 12.8 million viewers and a 4.5 adults 18-49 average.
