NetRadio Corporation today announced that it claimed the top three slots in Arbitron's September Webcasting report. NetRadio also claimed seven of the top 10 slots, and 12 of the top 25 slots measured in the newly released September report.

The top three NetRadio channels in the September report included NetRadio's "80's Hits" with 248,600 ATH (Aggregate Tuning Hours -- the sum total of all hours that listeners tune to a given channel during a month), "Smooth Jazz" with 234,300 ATH, and "Hits" with 232,000 ATH.

"With Webcast channels like NetRadio, Internet-only audio continues to consistently grow, providing programming that people want to hear," said Joan FitzGerald, director of marketing and research & development, Arbitron Webcast Ratings. "These results reflect the findings from our latest Internet study, which showed that listening online has tripled in the last two years and that people who consume streaming media are a highly desirable consumer segment."

Just as NetRadio dominated September rankings, ABC Radio dominated last week's charts.

ABC Radio took the top three spots again, and eight of the top ten positions in the weekly MeasureCast Internet Radio Top 10 ranking for the week of December 11.

The number one station for the third week in a row was WABC-AM, a New York talk radio station that is streamed through RealNetwork's Real Broadcast Network. The Beat LA and Radio Margaritaville were the only two non-ABC stations to crack the top 10 this week

The top ten stations are:

Rank Station Format Network ---- ------- ------ ------- 1 WABC-AM Talk Radio ABC (New York) Radio(3)

2 KSFO-AM Talk Radio ABC (SF) Radio

3 WBAP-AM News/Talk ABC (Dallas/Ft.Worth) Radio

Additionally, Measurecast reports, Tuesday, December 12, showed the largest audiences, which could be attributed to listeners tuning in to hear the latest developments in the Presidential election.

Measurecast also reports that 69% of all streaming audio listening took place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST. and 3 PM EST was the peak listening hour for Internet radio. Twenty six percent of Internet radio listeners were aged 25-34, followed by 35-44 year olds (24%), and 18-24 year olds (19%).
