HEADLINERS THIS WEEK:

CYNDI STIVERS, president and editor in chief of Time Out New York, has been formally elected President of the American Society of Magazine Editors.

BETH CLARK is the new vice president and media director for Dudnyk Advertising and Dudnyk Healthcare Group. Most recently, Clark was vice president of media for Radio Direct Response in Media, Pa.

JAMES KEPLESKY has been promoted to VP, advertising sales for the ABC branded properties of the Walt Disney Internet Group, including ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com and Enhanced TV. Keplesky had been vice president of advertising sales for ABCNEWS.com.

ANDREW LACK, the head of NBC News, was promoted to president of the NBC network, replacing veteran TV executive BOB WRIGHT, who will remain chief executive. Lack was also named chief operating officer.

STEPHEN D. TWOMBLY has been appointed publishing director at Natural Health magazine. Twombly had most recently served as vice president and publisher at New Age Publishing.

DEIRDRE O'GRADY has been named vice president of pricing and planning/traffic at Court TV after working as director of network sales planning and traffic at Pax TV.

DALE A. CAKE has joined Neiman Group as an account supervisor in the Harrisburg central office. Cake served as director of marketing at T.H.E. Financial Group, Ltd. and has held similar positions with financial institutions including Keystone Financial, Inc. and Salomon Smith Barney.

MICHAEL ELLIOTT has been named an editor at large for Time magazine. Before this, Elliott was editor in chief of eCountries.

CATHERINE MACKAY has been promoted to the newly created position of chief executive officer of Pearson Television International and Enterprises. She had been serving as president of Pearson Television.

RICH CRONIN has been named president of the Game Show Network. Cronin had been the president of Fox Family Channel from its 1998 relaunch until last September.

BILL FROELICH has been appointed Sales Manager with Katz Hispanic Media in Dallas. Most recently, Froelich co-founded his own broadcast business, Elevated Ads, Inc., where he served as Chief Operating Officer.

ERIC SIMON has joined Kerker as VP and director of the agency's recently coined "i/d Factor," which is a hybrid of the agency's interactive and direct marketing groups. Simon was most recently the VP of interactive at Larsen Design and Interactive.

HOWARD A. "TRIPP" WHEELER III has been hired to handle New Business Development at GMR Marketing. Wheeler was most recently President of Wheeler Sports, LLC.

The founders of Razorfish, chief executive JEFFREY A. DACHIS, and chief strategic officer CRAIG KANARICK, have resigned from their management positions, and will become co-chairmen on the company's board. They will be replaced by JEAN-PHILLIP MAHEU, who had been the chief operating officer.

JIM CRUTCHFIELD has been promoted from general manager of the Akron Beacon Journal to president and publisher. Crutchfield has spent much of his career with newspaper publisher Knight Ridder.

KAREN JACOBS has been appointed senior vice president and director of print investment at Starcom USA. She previously worked as media director for Kraft, Rockport, Pillsbury and Kellogg.

MICHAEL R. ROBINSON will assume leadership of international operations at out-of-home digital media company Next Generation Network. Prior to NGN, Robinson worked several years at Honeywell International, most recently as VP and CFO of the company's industrial control business.

BARRY THURSTON has teamed with NICK EVANS, JACK WEST and STEVE CASTELLAW to form the new industry brokerage and consultancy group, Associated Media Partners Llc. Thurston is the former president of Columbia TriStar Television Distribution. Evans formerly served as chief executive officer of Spartan Communications, West was an executive vice president at Spartan, and Castellaw worked as a vice president and director of sales.

JULIE KANTROWITZ has stepped down as executive VP of media sales at Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. Senior VP of East Coast media sales, PAUL MONTOYA, will be taking over for Kantrowitz on an interim basis.

MARK GREEN has been named senior vice president and associate managing director of Media Planning's New York-based Research and Insight Center. Green previously served as executive vice president and chief information officer for Initiative Media Worldwide/NY. In other Media Planning moves, LOUIS W. JONES has joined as senior vice president and associate managing director of West Coast operations. He comes from Organic Inc. where he worked as executive director.
