McD's Promoting Angus Burgers With Freebies

  • September 10, 2009
From Sept. 13 through the end of September, McDonald's will make special offers for a free transit pass and a coupon for a free Angus Third Pounder (while supplies last) available to commuters using public transit systems in six major cities.

The offers will be made to commuters in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Washington, D.C.

Details will be made public on the day of, or the day before, each "Try Free, Ride Free" event. The offer information will be made available exclusively on the site mcdepk.com/TryFreeRideFree.

Additional promotions for the new Angus burger taking place in other regions will include on-the-street promotions offering a chance to win "one of a kind" apparel and free burger coupons.

For example, in San Francisco, street teams positioned along the BART transit system will issue Angus burger giveaways in the financial district; in Pittsburgh, transit bus users will win burger coupons for answering trivia questions; in Central Missouri, radio DJs will ask listeners to submit photos of themselves eating an Angus on public transportation in exchange for premiums; and in Northwest cities, college football fans will be encouraged to call in during the third quarter of big games to predict the final score for a chance to win free Angus burgers and merchandise. --Karlene Lukovitz
