Miami Herald Publishing Eliminates Jobs

  • May 18, 2001
The Miami Herald Publishing Co. will cut its full-time work force by 10%, citing a decline in advertising revenue. The company will eliminate 180 positions, including 40 current vacancies, at The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, a Spanish daily, offering buyouts to about 700 employees, and resorting to layoffs if enough employees don't accept the buyouts.
