Comcast Corp. late Wednesday denied the rumor du jour that it had struck a deal to acquire NBC Universal from General Electric and Vivendi for $35 billion. The rumor, which was initially reported by
the Wrap.com, fueled numerous news reports and a flurry of discussion on the blogsphere that a deal may yet be in the works. "While we do not normally comment on M&A rumors, the report that Comcast
has a deal to purchase NBC Universal is inaccurate," Comcast said in a statement.
