USA Retools Lineup

Once the cable industry's top-rated network -- thanks mostly to its World Wrestling Federation lineup and the young male audience that flocked to watch it -- USA Network has fallen to third place after it lost its wrestling programming to Viacom's TNN last fall. As a result, reports the Wall Street Journal, the channel hired Rob Sorcher, a 38-year-old former Cartoon Network executive, as general manager last year to right itself, and is seeking to do so by eliminating such testosterone-soaked programming as Strip Poker and Lover or Loser and replacing it with more female-friendly shows and original movies.
