Hit Shows Seen In Time-Shift Mode

A mass amount of viewers of AMC's "Mad Men" watched it in time-shifted mode. But the 58% increase in DVR-enabled viewership on average did not make it the most time-shifted show so far this year.

Nielsen said Syfy's "Battlestar Galactica" received a 59% bump to lead the pack. FX's "Damages" and "Rescue Me" followed with 56% and 53% increases, respectively. Among broadcast shows, NBC's "Heroes" led with a 46% bump.

Figures show the percentage increase in household ratings that occurred from DVR-enabled viewing in the seven days after a live broadcast. Because the figures are for HH ratings, the data -- which cover the Jan. 1 - Nov. 15 time period -- could be different for the crucial 18-to-49 demo.

Syfy had three of the top-10 most time-shifted shows in "Galactica," "Stargate Universe" and "Sanctuary" -- more than any other network.

Other figures that Nielsen released showed the Super Bowl was the most-watched one-time broadcast in 2009 with a 42 household rating. The Academy Awards had a 21, good for seventh.
