Eat Your Heart Out Brian Williams, Couric Gets Own App
Can't get enough of Katie Couric? You guessed it -- there's an app for her. CBS has launched the CBS News Katie Couric mobile application, a one-stop shop for all of the anchor's endeavors including CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes, CBS Sunday Morning and the @KatieCouric Webcast on CBSNews.com. Oh, and there's also the Katie Couric Notebook blog.
Yup, it's all Katie, all the time, and free! Quite a turnaround for Couric, going from rumors about her getting canned in 2008 due to low ratings to getting her own app in 2010. In addition to the iPhone and iPod, the new Couric app created by CBS Mobile and developer July Systems is available for BlackBerry phones. If that's too much of a good thing, there's always the plain old CBS News app. --Mark Walsh
