The Orchard Names Permanent CEO

  • February 22, 2010

Digital music label The Orchard on Monday named it current interim CEO Brad Navin as permanent CEO. Navin was selected by a search committee formed by Board Chairman Michael Donahue last October after the company lost its then president and CEO, Greg Scholl, to NBC Universal (where he has assumed the role of president of Local Media Platforms).

Prior to his interim appointment, Navin had held several titles at The Orchard over a six-year period, including executive vice president and general manager. Boosted by a merger with rival Digital Music Group in late 2007, Orchard acquires and licenses the digital rights to music and video content from record labels, artists, television, and film production companies, among other content owners. --Gavin O'Malley
